Joe Fettingis
“Color Color Color”
"There
is more to painting than knowing some techniques"
In this workshop the students will learn
how to use color and values to create movement, unity, balance and how
to complete a painting. The workshop will also focus on how to compose
a painting. Lots of techniques on brush handling. There will be about
5-7 small demos all day and the students will have time to paint.
This workshop will be on painting people
and animals in watercolors. Mr. Fettingis will provide all the
references for the painting time.
Mr. Fettingis has been painting and
teaching watercolors for over 35 years. He is a signature member of the
National Watercolor Society. Published in many books and magazines.
Mr. Fettingis was named "Master's Circle Distinguished Art Educator" by
the Arches Watercolor Co.
The Workshop
The
students will be given projects to work on. These projects are
designed to bring the students to a higher level in a short time.
There will be a variety of subject matter.....a people painting one
day and something else the next day. The students will watch 5-6
small demos everyday and every demo will have a problem solving goal.
Joe states "I like to create a mood in my paintings" This is what
goes through my mind before I paint.....Do I want to create a soft
mood or dramatic?....What do I want to say with my colors,
values?....Where is my energy going? Movement?..Where is the "focal
point" and so much more.
